Salford is a city in the north-west of England, UK. The city's eastern boundary separates Salford from the City of Manchester. The central districts of the two cities are divided by the River Irwell.

The hundred of Salford (sometimes known as Salfordshire) was an ancient division of the historic county of Lancashire. It corresponds loosely to the modern Greater Manchester area excluding the parts historically in Cheshire.

Salford is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.
