In the cell cycle, the stage of interphase during which DNA is replicated. (Contrast with G1 phase, G2 phase.)
The DNA replication phase of the eukaryotic cell cycle. It follows G1 and precedes G2 and mitosis (M phase).
An indication of the speed at which cancer cells are multiplying. Understanding Breast Cancer
One part of the 5 step process of cell division. During the S phase, the cell replicates its DNA so that both of the new cells it will eventually form will have the right amount of DNA. Often used as a prognostic index in cancer.
The stage of the cell division cycle during which DNA is synthesized.
That period of interphase when new DNA is synthesized as part of replication of the chromatin. PICTURE
Period of a eucaryotic cell cycle in which DNA is synthesized.
The part of interphase of the cell cycle in which DNA synthesis takes place.
The S phase, short for synthesis phase, is a period in the cell cycle during interphase, between G1 phase and the G2 phase. Following G1, the cell enters the S stage, when DNA synthesis or replication occurs. At the beginning of the S stage, each chromosome is composed of one coiled DNA double helix molecule, which is called a chromatid.
