PSYC (Protocol for SYnchronous Conferencing) is a flexible text-based protocol for delivery of data to a flexible amount of recipients or people, by unicast or multicast. It is primarily used for text chat, multicasting presence, friendcasting, newscasting and plain instant messaging.
