The terminal of a battery toward which electrons flow through the external circuit when the cell discharges.

The battery terminal that leads to the electrical system on cars with negative ground. The positive terminal usually has "pos" or "+" on it. Jumper cables and other devices that connect to the battery usually have red clips for the positive terminal and black clips for the negative terminal and ground.
