A textile fabric with a nap or shag on one side, longer and softer than the nap of velvet.

A smooth, highly finished, level cut pile carpet. A plush is lower and more dense than a saxony. In a plush, each individual yarn end is less distinguishable than in a saxony. Plied yarns must be heatset to prevent untwisting under traffic.
Plush is a grunge song performed by Stone Temple Pilots. It is instantly recognizable for its opening chords. The song was composed and written by singer Scott Weiland, drummer Eric Kretz and bassist Robert De Leo for Stone Temple Pilots' debut album, Core (see 1992 in music).
