A message in normal language.
Readable data. Data prior to a transformation to ciphertext via encryption or data that is the result of a transformation from ciphertext via decryption.
The unencrypted form of a message, which can be viewed immediately.
Also called cleartext. Unencrypted data in ASCII format.
The original message before encryption.
The input to encryption, the original, clear and readable unencrypted data. After encryption, the result is ciphertext.
Unencrypted or clear text. Contrast with ciphertext.
Data that has not been encrypted, or data that was decrypted from ciphertext.
the original message or file. After a file or message has been encrypted and then decrypted you should end up with the original file or message.
(plain text) - A message written in regular characters readable by all without any hidden or secret meaning.
A message before encryption or after decryption, i.e. in its usual form which anyone or any system can read, as opposed to its encrypted form. The most common and readable form used for e-mail.
A message in its original form, not encoded.
The original message that needs to be encrypted. This is the message that has some value and should not be transmitted or stored as-is. (Sometimes referred to as cleartext)
Unencrypted text, a.k.a. cleartext.
Data that is not encrypted. Sometimes also called clear text. See also ciphertext; encryption; decryption.
Normal text that has not been encrypted and is readable by text editors and word processors. Contrast with ciphertext.
The unencrypted, readable form of data.
Unencrypted, readable data. 12.16
Readable information that is to be encrypted.
The text used most often for electronic documents as it is the least formatted and most portable.
Readable text that has not been encrypted or decrypted.
A message text or data that is freely readable and understandable by anyone.
The text that will be encrypted. If we decrypt succesfully a ciphertext, the result is the plaintext.
The original message to be encoded or enciphered
plaintext - Data in its unencrypted or decrypted form.
A message that is not encrypted. Plaintext messages are also referred to as cleartext messages.
The input to an encryption function or the output of a decryption function.
Message text that has not been encrypted.
The least formatted and therefore most portable form of text for computerized documents.
Normal, legible, unencrypted, unsigned text.
In cryptography, the original text that is being encrypted.
The data to be encrypted.
Plaintext refers to text that you have before encryption.
Ordinary readable text before being encrypted into ciphertext or after being decrypted.
Data that is not encrypted. Sometimes also called cleartext.
also called 'cleartext,' the human-readable data or message before it is encrypted.
In cryptography, plaintext is information used as input to an encryption algorithm; the output is termed ciphertext. The plaintext could be, for example, a diplomatic message, a bank transaction, an e-mail, a diary and so forth — any information that someone might want to prevent others from reading. Typically the plaintext is the message in a form where no special effort has been made to make the information unreadable without special knowledge.
