Peter Brian Gabriel (born February 13, 1950, in Chobham, Surrey, England) is an English musician. He first came to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis. After leaving Genesis, Gabriel went on to a successful solo career.
Security (1982) is the fourth album released by the British progressive rock musician Peter Gabriel. This album was originally released as Gabriel’s fourth eponymous album, but was released in the United States as Security, which has since become its default title and was Gabriel's first album with Geffen Records in the US.
Peter Gabriel is the first album Peter Gabriel recorded after leaving the progressive rock band Genesis, and the first of four with the same eponymous title (as though each album were an issue of a magazine). Upon the album's release, Gabriel began touring with a seven-piece band under his own name.
