A nationally standardized unique identifier for all payers of health care benefits, as required under the Administrative Simplification area of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The PAYERID will facilitate Cordination of Benefits processing. The proposed PAYERID is nine-digits long. PAYERID has not yet been implemented.
