PÄrtha (Sanskrit: पारà¥à¤¥, pÄÅ—tha) - is the other name for Arjuna (अरà¥à¤œà¥à¤¨, or aÅ—juna). The name literally means Son of Pritha (पृथा, or PÅ—itha), the other name for Kunti. Krishna played the role of charioteer to Arjuna during the Mahabharata War, and hence is also called PÄÅ—thaSÄÅ—thi (Sanskrit: पारà¥à¤¥à¤¸à¤¾à¤°à¥à¤¥à¥€, ''The Charioteer (or, Guide) of PÄÅ—tha).
