Definitions for "Palestinians"
Although anyone with roots in the land that is now Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza is technically a Palestinian, the term is more commonly used to refer to Arabs with such roots. Palestinian nationalism, as distinguished from Arab nationalism, emerged after World War One. Most of the Palestinian population is concentrated in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and Jordan, although many Palestinians also live in Lebanon, Syria, the Gulf States, and throughout the world.
