Oppenheimer is a large lunar crater that lies on the Far side of the Moon, as seen from the Earth. It lies along the western outer ampart of the immense Apollo walled plain. Nearby features of note include the dark-floored Maksutov crater to the southwest, and Davisson crater to the west-southwest.
