Definitions for "Offtake"
A Distribution Network receives gas from the NTS at the offtakes which contain instrumentation and telemetry equipment to enable remote monitoring and control of the gas flows. Normally the Distribution Network will own the offtake site and the majority of the associated equipment including equipment for filtration, pressure management, measurement and odorisation.
(UK) gas removed from the national transmission system at reduced pressure.
