An organization created by the Ministry of Peace to maintain peace and to boost the morale among Earthforce personnel. In 2259 Nightwatch promised 50 credits a week to Earth Force officers for joining the organization, wearing an armband and reporting any un-patriotic activity. However, as time went by, reporting possible traitors became more and more important part of Nightwatch's agenda. In 2260 Nightwatch personnel were authorised to monitor all communications and even look into the personal backgrounds of non-nightwatch officers (and even civilians). When Earth was put under Martial Law later that year, all security outside Earth was transferred to the Nightwatch. Although places like Babylon 5 refused to be controlled by Nightwatch and deported all its members, the orgazation remained alive right until to the end of the Earth Civil War and the suicide of President Clark.
