The "National Center for Supercomputing Applications" is a centre for the development of advanced computer technology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urban. Among other things, it developed the first web browser - Mosaic.
Located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, NCSA is an interdisciplinary research centre working to develop high-performance computing applications. The Mosaic client software and the World Wide Web (WWW) server software are two of their best-known applications.
