Any one of numerous species of Asiatic starlings of the genera Acridotheres, Sturnopastor, Sturnia, Gracula, and allied genera. In habits they resemble the European starlings, and like them are often caged and taught to talk. See Hill myna, under Hill, and Mino bird.

The mynas (also spelled mynahs) are part of the family Sturnidae, along with the starlings and oxpeckers. This is a group of passerine birds which occur naturally only in eastern Asia, although several species have been introduced to North America and New Zealand, and the Common Myna to south-eastern Australia, where it is regarded as a pest species.
