The betting scheme where the bettor lays a price not points. For example, a five point favorite may be minus 200 on the moneyline. This means that the bettor has to lay 200 to win 100 but the favorite just has to win straight up - not cover the spread.
The moneyline is an indicator of the odds that a team will win. A negative moneyline represents how many dollars you would need to bet to win $100. A positive money line represents how many dollars you would win if you bet $100.
The amount you must bet to win 100 or the amount you win if you bet 100
A wager where no pointspread is involved.
Odds expressed in terms of money. For example, with money odds, whenever there is a minus (-), you must lay that amount to win say a hundred dollars, where there is a plus (+), you get that amount for every hundred dollars wagered.
A bet on the actual result of an event (i.e., which team will win, without taking the point spread into consideration). Moneyline odds are quoted using either a positive or a negative number. A negative number indicates the favored team, and the odds show how much money you must wager to win $100. A positive number indicates the underdog, and the odds show how much money you will win on a $100 wager. The team you wager on just has to win the event.
