A meteoroid of microscopic size. In general, such small meteoroids are stopped in the outer atmosphere of the Earth without producing enough frictional force to result in a visible meteor. However, on an airless body, such as the Moon or Mercury, they can hit the surface with their full interplanetary velocity, and produce a microscopic impact crater.
