Definitions for "Microdialysis"
A technique for collecting small molecules from specific parts of the brain, for later analysis.
Microdialysis is a technique used to determine the chemical components of the fluid in the extracellular space of tissues. A microdialysis probe, which is inserted into the tissue, is a tiny tube made of a semi-permeable membrane. A semi-permeable membrane has tiny "pores" in it through which molecules can pass, if they are small enough.
