An Italian who emigrated to England around the end of the 19th Century, Guglielmo Marconi is considered by most to be the Father of Radio. He sent the first Radio Signal between England and America on 12 December 1901 by Morse Code, probably using a Spark-Gap Transmitter.
Marconi is a lunar impact crater that is located on the Moon's far side. It lies to the northwest of the large Gararin impact basin, and to the southwest of the prominent Chaplygin crater. To the west-northwest of Marconi is the slightly larger Dellinger crater.
