Definitions for "LVT"
Leasehold Valuation Tribunal. this is a tribunal functioning as part of the Residential Property Tribunal Service, which is comprised of the five regional Rent Assessment Panels in England and Wales, and whose function is, amongst other things, to provide a means of determining the premium to be paid and the terms of a new lease or the transfer when a right has been established under the enfranchisement legislation but where agreement between the parties has not been achieved. Other functions include the resolution of disputes concerning service charges, the appointment of managers and the landlord's choice of insurer together with the variation of estate management schemes set up under either the 1967 or 1993 Acts (see Links). Appeals from the decisions of the LVT are to the Lands Tribunal and thence to the Court of Appeal.
