Local Transportation Fund - A one-quarter cent of the state sales tax that is returned-to-source. The disbursement of the funds is through MTC following the TDA (see p. 13) statutes and regulations. In counties of under five hundred thousand, according to the 1970 census, it is possible to spend the funds on road and street maintenance, otherwise it is to be expended on the provision of public mass transportation, including trains. The source funds most of the transit operations in the Napa communities.
