Kyuss (pronounced ) was an influential stoner rock band, originally from Palm Desert, California. They are considered by many to be "the fathers of stoner rock"http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=398 Kyuss at Encyclopaedia Metallum. So far, they released four full-length albums between 1991 and 1995 and have not been active since then.

In the World of Greyhawk campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game, Kyuss (pronounced kai-OOSS) is a deity concerned with the Creation and Mastery of the Undead. Known as the Bonemaster, the Wormgod, and the Herald of the Age of Worms, his symbol is a skull erupting with writhing green worms.
