Definitions for "Khrushchev"
Nikita S. Khrushchev was the premier of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1958-1964. (He died in 1971.) While he is known in the US for many of his international relations maneuvers, within the USSR he was known for pushing to have homes constructed so that everyone could have a place to live. The homes built during this time are known for being small, and perhaps at the time had many problems, although now, 40 years later, most of the problems have been worked out or fixed.
