Ivanhoe is a novel by Sir Walter Scott. It was written in 1819 and set in 12th century England, an example of historical fiction. Ivanhoe is sometimes given credit for helping to increase popular interest in the middle ages in 19th century Europe and America (see Romanticism).

In 1952 version of Ivanhoe Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor played Ivanhoe and Rebecca and the entire title of the this version was "Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe".
Ivanhoe is a romantic opera in three acts based on the novel by Sir Walter Scott, with music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by Julian Sturgis. It premiered at the Royal English Opera House on January 31 1891 for a consecutive run of 155 performances, which was then – as it is now – unheard of for a grand opera.
