Definitions for "Isostere"
Isosteres are molecules or ions of similar size and the same number of valence electrons. For example, fluorine may be considered an isostere for hydrogen. A biological compound containing an isostere is called, not surprisingly, a bioisostere.
A line of equal or constant specific volume. It is equivalent to an isopycnic line.
