The Isar is the fifth largest river in Bavaria, Germany, right tributary of the Danube. After the Inn river and the Lech river, it is the third most important tributary of the Danube river in Germany and is 295 km in length. The name Isar appears to be derived from the Celtic word Isaria (meaning torrential).
