Definitions for "IOR"
IOR stands for Interoperable Object Reference. It is a data structure associated with a CORBA object that contains enough information to locate that object from anywhere on the network. IOR is often used informally to mean stringified IOR.
Interoperable Object Reference. A string that conatins information about the type and key of an object and the communications profiles needed to contact the object server and locate the object itself. An IOR is represented through a string instance by a process known as stringification.
Interoperable Object Reference. A bundle of data that is used by a CORBA application to determine how to connect to a server and send requests to an object.
Index of Refraction. The ratio of light velocity in a vacuum to its velocity in a given transmission medium.

INVESTIGATOR OF RECORD. The individual at the site who is responsible for ensuring that a study is conducted in accordance with the protocol, US federal regulations, in-country regulations, and any provisions imposed by the reviewing IRB/EC. The IoR oversees the trial at the site and is required to sign the FDA Form 1572 (for studies under IND) or the DAIDS Investigators Agreement (for non-IND studies). The IoR may or may not also be a Unit PI or an In-country PI. Note that DAIDS allows two IoRs to be named on the Form 1572 or Investigator's Agreement; however, at least one of these must be located on site.
Inspector of Record: Required for all projects regulated by DSA. This is the "Building Inspector" for school facilities projects. The IOR works as an independent entity contracted with the District and managed by the Architect of Record.
Investigation of Result. Used when information about performance or circumstances was incomplete at the time of the relevant meeting. Seek advice from your Managing Field.
