A chamber used for the measurement of radiation exposure. Similar to a Geiger Müller tube, it is operated at much lower electrical potentials. The fundamental principle of gas ionization by radiation still applies but since the potential voltage is not as great, the amount of amplification in the tube is small. Generally used for personal dosimeters and standardization instruments.
A radiation detection and measurement instrument.
an instrument designed to measure the quantity of ionizing radiation in terms of the charge of electricity associated with ions produced within a defined volume.
A device for detection of ionizing radiation or for measurement of radiation dose and dose rate.
A device that measures the intensity of ionizing radiation.
An ionization chamber is a device used for two major purposes: detecting particles in air (as in a smoke detector), and for detection or measurement of ionizing radiation.
