The internal affairs (United States terminology) division of a law enforcement agency investigates incidents and plausible suspicions of lawbreaking and professional misconduct attributed to officers on the force. In different systems, internal affairs can go by another name such as "professional standards," "inspectorate general", Office of Professional Responsibility or similar.
Internal Affairs are a straight edge hardcore punk band from Los Angeles, CA, fronted by Corey Williams, former guitarist of Carry On. They specialize in short, fast, angry music with influences from Infest to Madball. To date they have put out six releases: A demo, the Casualty Of The Core seven-inch, a split seven-inch with Allegiance, a CD/LP titled This Is For You containing all the tracks off of the aforementioned releases, a split seven-inch with Last Nerve, and a self titled full-length CD/LP on Malfunction Records.

Internal Affairs also has a live band that helps out to re-create the sounds that can be heard on Internal Affairs two releases; the Lost Scriptures and Sweet Home Babylon. The live band includes lead guitarist PJ Miller, bass guitarist Jon Miller, violinist Melina Stinson and drummer Mike Wallace.
Internal Affairs is the solo debut from former Organized Konfusion member Pharoahe Monch, released on Rawkus Records. Monch creates a harder sound then heard on the previous Organized Konfusion records. The album spawned the unexpected Hot 100 hit "Simon Says".
