Intelligent Character Recognition. Same as OCR but implies information other than the pixels in the image can be used to increase accuracy.
Intelligent Character Recognition. A system used to capture claim information directly from the HCFA-1500 claim form; all information which is captured by the computer is transferred into an electronic file which is then passed to the Medicare claims processing system.
See Intelligent CallRouter.
A technology that employs either software only or software and hardware to automatically recognize and translate raster images into structured data. ICR is an advanced form of OCR technology that may include capabilities such as learning fonts during processing or using context to strengthen probabilities of correct recognition.
Intelligent Character Recognition] The ability of software to recognize and translate handwritten characters into machine-readable text.
Intelligent Character Recognition is the machine reading of handwritten or printed information, interpreted from an image scan of the original item. Interchange A fee, set by a network operator (such as Visa, MasterCard and debit card networks, such as STAR) and paid by the transaction-acquiring bank to the card-issuing bank.
(Intelligent Character Recognition)-Advanced form of OCR technology that may include capabilities such as learning fonts during processing or using context to strengthen probabilities of correct recognition or that can recognize handprint characters.
Intelligent Character Recognition. The process of converting handwritten characters into ASCII text through the use of a recognition engine.
ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) is an advanced form of OCR technology that includes additional capabilities. (see OCR).
Intelligent Character Recognition. The processes of recognizing handwritten characters. Similar to OCR, but more difficult since OCR is from printed text. Used for forms you fill out that are then scanned to gather information you have provided on the form.
Conversion of handprinted text (held as a raster image) to (editable) text format. The ultimate goal of ICR is to be able to recognise cursive hand-writing.
literally Intelligent Character Recognition. Initially used as a term to differentiate Kurzweil’s OCR from other vendor’s products. Recently come to mean hand print recognition. Usually related to neural net technologies, can be used also to identify marks such as check-off boxes or stylized pattern fonts such as OCR-A, OCR-B or MICR.
Intelligent character recognition for interpreting hand printed text.
Image Character Recognition. A function of a computer that gives it the ability to locate, analyze, and recognize alpha and numeric characters from an electronic image.
Intelligent Character Recognition. A term applied to the recognition of hand printed characters.
Intelligent Character Recognition. A software process that recognizes handwritten and printed text as alphanumeric characters.
Intelligent Character Recognition: Machine reading of hand writing or print, interpreted from a image scan.
see “intelligent character recognition (ICR)
intelligent character recognition. the recognition of printed and handprinted (but not cursive) characters by a computer that uses context to determine the likely character and the subsequent conversion of images of those characters into electronic text; see also “optical character recognition (OCR)
process by which a computer interprets an image to convert scanned handwriting to editable text usually within the confines of a structured form (cf. OCR)
Intelligent Character Recognition. A technology that employs either software only or software and hardware to automatically recognise and translate raster images into structured data.
Intelligent Character Recognition. The conversion of scanned images (bar codes or patterns of bits) to computer recognizable codes (ASCII characters and files) by means of software/programs that define the rules of and algorithms for conversion.
