Low level of potassium in the blood.
Decreased levels of potassium in the blood.
A potassium level below 3.5mmol/L. Leads to muscle weakness, cramps, tetany, ecg abnormalities and arrhythmias. Causes include diuretics, vomiting, Cushing's syndrome, Conn's syndrome, Alkalosis, laxative abuse, liquorice overdose, pyloric stenosis and intestinal fistulae. Close this window
