(n.) A type of bullet with a hollow cavity formed into its nose, designed to expand when it hits a target. The use of hollowpoints is banned in international warfare by the Hague Convention of 1899 (NOT the Geneva Convention, which covers the use of poison gases and treatment of POWs.) Abbreviated as "HP."
