Definitions for "Highlanders"
The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons) is an infantry battalion of the British Army. Prior to 2006, it was an independent regiment, part of the Scottish Division. The regiment was the only one in the British Army with a Gaelic motto - Cuidich 'n Righ which means "Aid the King".
The Highlanders (formerly known as Otago Highlanders), are a rugby union team from New Zealand. They compete in the Super 14 rugby union tournament, which is played between teams from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The Highlanders draw their team from the South Island regions of Otago, North Otago, and Southland.
