Often a pest of lawns, the grub is another name for beetle larvae. They are soft bodied and typically light colored (yellow, orangish, or whitish). Many species are responsible for feeding on plant roots, but some, like the Mexican bean beetle grub feed on leaves. Most common grub problems can be prevented by physically keeping the beetle away from plants; using floating row covers can be effective.
