Definitions for "Grammars"
A structured list of rules that identify the words or phrases that can be used for speech recognition. Grammar files are XML documents created using the grammar XML elements defined by the W3C Speech Recognition Grammar Specification (SRGS). The Speech Grammar Editor in Microsoft Speech Application SDK Version 1.0 creates files in this format. For applications that use Speech Engine Services (SES) with the default Microsoft-provided speech recognition engine, grammars must be saved in one of the following file formats:• The W3C-compliant XML format (uncompiled).• The context-free grammar (CFG) format (compiled).• Other recognition engines may utilize grammars in other formats.
