Definitions for "Godet"
A driven roller on a textile machine around which a yarn is passed in order to regulate its speed during the extrusion and further processing of certain man-made fibres. The roller may be heated in order to heat the yarn which passes around it.

Note: Godets usually have a single flange and are mounted on an axle from the flange side. They may be constructed with serrations broadly parallel to the axis, and may be tapered or stepped. 2. (Clothing) Material cut in a wedge-shaped segment of a circle and let into a seam or slash to give decorative extra fullness to a hem.
