Full Width, Half Maximum. The bandwidth of an optical instrument as measured at the half-power points.
Full Width at Half Maximum. Method for characterising the width of a peak on a graph.
Full Width at Half Maximum, a measure of the width of a distribution, frequently used to describe the resolving power of the CCD for spectral emission lines.
Full width at half maximum. The width of the transmitting band of an optical filter, measured at 50% of the peak transmission. See also bandwidth.
abbreviation for Full Width at Half Maximum, indicator of the spatial resolution of the scanner
full width at half maximum (height), often associated with resolution
Full-Width-at-Half-Maximum, or width of the event distribution at 50 % of its function density. In the PET domain, we determine the width such that 75 % of all events (an event is the detection of a pair of gamma rays issued by the annihilation of the emitted positron with an electron) occur within the positron range in the line spread function (LSF). This roughly corresponds to the FWHM of a Normal distribution since about 75 % of the area under , the normal density function curve, is between zero and 0.5.
Full Width Half Maximum. The measure of the extent of a function. Given by the difference between the two extreme values of the independent variable at which the dependant variable is equal to half of its maximum value. The term duration is preferred over width when the independent variable is time. Commonly applied to the duration of pulse waveforms, the spectral extent of emission or absorption lines, and the angular or spatial extent of radiation patterns.
The full width of a peak measured at one-half of its maximum amplitude with the continuum removed. Defines the resolution of a spectroscopy system.
Full Width at Half Maximum - The bandwidth of the filter Hot mirror A filter which reflects the near infrared energy (heat) and transmist the visible energy Index of Refraction The ratio of the velocity of light in a vacuum to the velocity of light in a refractive material.
Full Width between Half Maximum values of a function
Abbreviation for full-width at half-maximum. An expression of the spectral width of a detector or filter. The width is reported as the difference between the lower and upper wavelengths of the spectrum where the value of the response is equal to one-half the maximum value.
