The song "Footloose", by Kenny Loggins spent three weeks at number one in 1984 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was one of the first of two number-ones from the motion picture Footloose. The music video features several scenes from the film, in particularly the warehouse where Kevin Bacon's character performs an unorchestrated dance routine.

The original nine track album was released in 1984 and reached Number One on Billboard's 200 Chart on April 21, 1984 where it stayed until June 30.
