Another term for plain sawn.
Lumber that is sawn approximately parallel to the annual growth rings so that some or all of the rings form an angle of less than 45% with surface of the board. See also: Mixed Grain Vertical Grain
Veneer cut so that the growth rings on more than half of the width of the piece make an angle of less than 45 degrees with the surface. Also called slash grain.
