Definitions for "Fire Polished"
Keywords:  bead, flame, polish, reheating, melting
The process whereby glass is raised to its melting point and formed by molding with a highly polished metal surface.
Glass beads that have been passed through a flame rather than buffed to smooth their surface.
This refers to the use of the flame to smooth out the surface of irregularities. It might take as much time, or longer, to fire polish a bead or marble as it did to make the piece itself.
