Definitions for "Federal Direct Loan Program"
A federal program where the U.S. government provides four types of education loans to student and parent borrowers: the Federal Direct Stafford/Ford Loan, the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford/Ford Loan, the Federal Direct PLUS Loan, and the Federal Direct Consolidation Loan. These are also referred to collectively as Direct Loans. See individual loan names.
