In insurance, a temporary premium charged, based on projected loss experience. The amount is eventually adjusted to reflect the actual loss experience.
The amount of premium the insured would be required to pay based on certain estimated exposures at policy exception. This premium may be subject to a premium audit and therefore may be adjusted based on the premium audit results.
