The use of electronic devices to insure that an offender remains in a defined area, usually his home; an alternative to incarceration.
An employee surveillance practice where items such as telephone calls or e-mail/Internet usage are observed for general business, training or performance-related reasons.
An electrical device installed to monitor tanks and/or piping for leaks. Examples include electronic line leak detectors, and sump or interstitial liquid sensors. Typically electronic monitoring uses an audible and visual alarm system.
