The portion of rainfall that infiltrates the soil and is stored for plant use in the crop root zone, as calculated by the modified Blaney-Criddle model.
That portion of rainfall that can be stored within the rooting depth of the crop and on the paddy surface and can be subsequently utilized by the plants.
In irrigation practise that portion of the total precipitation which is retained by the soil so that it is available for use for crop production.
