the passageway or tube extending from the auricle to the tympanic membrane through which sound waves travel. It is composed of an outer cartilaginous portion and an inner bony portion.
The ear canal varies in size and shape from person to person. It runs nearly horizontally toward the centre of the head for about 2.5cm (in adults) and ends at the eardrum.
