Definitions for "Dustjacket"
Sometimes referred to as dustwrapper. Dustjackets became a standard in book publishing in the early twentieth century. Its main function was to serve as a marketing tool on which a publisher could include artwork, teasers and blurbs about the book. With collectible books the absence of the dustjacket can severely reduce a book's value.
