Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security. DLES is an executive branch agency, and its mission is to transform Florida's work force so that it becomes sufficiently skilled to produce high value goods and services at costs that allow Florida to compete successfully in the global economy. The Department is also responsible for increasing Floridians' ability to regain employment after workplace injury or loss of work.
