When a case is dismissed for good reason and the plaintiff is barred from bringing an action on the same claim.
In the bankruptcy court, a court order dismissing the bankruptcy case with an order prohibiting the debtor from filing another bankruptcy until the expiration of some specified time. In a non-bankruptcy matter, the dismissal of an action without the right to raise those issues again.
Usually considered an adjudication upon the merits and will operate as a bar to future action.
