Definitions for "Digests"
Appellate court case opinions arranged in subject order.
Brief summaries of court opinions arranged by subject (Law Library).
West books containing headnotes arranged according to West's Key Number System. West publishes a number of digests: Decennial Digests contain all headnotes from all cases from all jurisdictions for particular 10 year periods; state and federal digests contain headnotes from particular jurisdictions; and topical digests contain headnotes pertaining to particular types of subject matter. No matter how the information is divided, all of these digests use the Key Number System, which makes it easy to find related material in all digests using the same Key Numbers.
Where a mailing list has high volume, it can become difficult to cope with the large number of posts that result. In such cases, you may be offered the mailing list in digest form, that is all the posts to the list are collated and sent to you as a single larger mail every so often.
