Definitions for "DESEAMING"
The removal of surface imperfections on steel by the controlled use of an oxy-acetylene gas burner. When used on-line in a rolling mill the process is often called 'scarfing'.
A process of burning out defective areas on the surface of ingots, blooms or billets. The condition of the surface is such that it can then be rolled or forged into a satisfactory product.
